If you're reading this right now, I'm either stuck in traffic on my way back to State College, or I'm back in State College already and watching Penn State (4-1) play the Youngstown State Penguins (3-0) on their way to their customary pre-Thanksgiving sparse crowd win...or so the Germans would have us believe. Tipoff is at 7:00 PM ET tonight and for those of you not fortunate enough to watch in person (which is virtually, all of you), you can watch for a small fee on BTN.com or listen to Steve Jones and Dick Jerardi on the radio.
While the Penguins don't exactly sport an impressive resume of wins (Samford, Notre Dame College, and UC-Riverside), they do feature a trio of guards who have the green light to shoot the ball from 3-point range in Kendrick Perry, Ashen Ward, and Blake Allen. Look for Tim Frazier, Trey Lewis, and their fellow guards to focus on perimeter defense and making sure those three don't get too many open looks. Damian Eargle has also been a solid man in the middle for the Penguins, averaging 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks per game, thus far, which means Sasa Borovnjak and Jon Graham should have their hands full once again.
With that being said, anything less than victory should be cause for disappointment. Also, it's THANKSGIVING EVE, so feel free to post your Turkey Day plans in this thread, as well. Just remember the rules: No porn, no trolling/racism/sexism/homophobia/death threats, and no illegal streams of this game.
