SIREN: Penn State Hockey Signs 10 to Class of 2012
Welcome to the big time, fellas! Andrew Dzurita at Lions247 has a great rundown (as well as links to past commitment articles) of all ten of the newest members of Penn State's brand-spanking-new Division 1 hockey team.
Welcome to the Penn State family - forwards Casey Bailey (Anchorage, Alaska), Kenny Brooks (Las Vegas, Nev.), David Glen (Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.), Reed Linaker (Edmonton, Alta.), Curtis Loik (North Vancouver, B.C.) and Jonathan Milley (Ottawa, Ont.); defensemen Luke Juha (Mississauga, Ont.), Connor Varley (Lansdale) and Mark Yanis (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.); and goaltender Matthew Skoff (McKees Rocks).

Saying siren doesn't quite cut it.
Don’t tell me the siren got fired too.
I am psyched to watch some PSU hockey though, welcome to PSU guys!
Can't put an image in a FanShot.
Saying “siren” was the best I could do. I couldn’t do a full post, seeing as how I know almost nothing about collegiate hockey, and since Andrew already did such a good job.

Lack of knowledge/facts is NO excuse, Jeff
It if was, there would be virtually no media coverage of the Sandusky scandal.
The depth of both my sadness and anger is unfathomable.
We (Still) Are...
I am looking forward to this team so much.
Would love to try and get season tix when the team finally goes D-1. Might be a bit much to drive up from Harrisburg for all the games though.
Ed Snider is a crotchety old fuck.
That is all.
Very excited for the new class of recruits
The 10 from this class will give us 25 total NCAA-level players for next year’s inaugural team. While that’s enough to fill a roster with extra reserves, I would expect GG to add about 5 “walk-ons” just to be prepared for the first season. And yes, I would expect some of the current Icers’ to get serious looks for those positions – they may not get a lot of ice time, but they’d be available as quality backups.
As for the incoming class, you can’t go wrong with Loik and Juha – both were on that Canada West team, which is quite an accomplishment. Reed Linaker is going to be an offensive machine, and if I recall correctly, Mark Yanis has already started popping onto some NHL draft boards. Exciting times for PSU ice hockey are coming!

Looking forward to Penn State hockey
I like some of the teams these kids are coming from. I hope Guy finds it a bit easier to sell kids on PSU than where he coached before. Now, if we can start pulling kids away from the powers of college hockey…..ah, but baby steps first.
