Here we go again. A TV station in Orlando is reporting that Urban Meyer agreed to a 7 year, $40 million contract with Ohio State this morning. For what it's worth, Meyer has again denied there is any truth to the report. But honestly, there's so much smoke here that there has to be a fire. As much as I don't want this to happen, it seems like a foregone conclusion at this point. There's been no confirmation yet on whether he's bringing along half of ESPN as assistant coaches though.
November's been a real crap month for college football. Rumors leaked last night that Hawaii players are the subject of a point shaving investigation. The Honolulu police are not investigating right now due to a lack of evidence.
I hope it doesn't come to that. Minnesota coach Jerry Kill's problems with seizures have become well known this year, and after suffering another mild one on Saturday night, he's said that he'll step down if his health becomes a hindrance. I really hope that doesn't happen. Kill is a damn good football coach, and even though he's still cleaning up Tim Brewster's mess in Minneapolis, the team has a bright future. Stay healthy, Coach.
Very much worth your time. Carve out a little time over the long weekend to take in this long read from SBN's Steven Godfrey, as he spent a few days taking a close look at James Franklin and his aggressive rebuilding of Vanderbilt football. I was skeptical of the hire at first, but I'm completely sold on the guy now. In fact, if I were Dave Joyner, I'd have Franklin's name on my list of people to call.
There's no football on tonight. You have no excuse. The basketball team is taking on Youngstown State tonight at 7 pm at the BJC. DO IT DO IT.
