Success with Hyperlinking is Assembling a Committee
The big news coming out of Penn State on Monday was that a committee had been formed to conduct the head coach search. None of the members of the committee have a background in football, which is a little surprising, but Russ Rose made the cut so hopefully they'll be able to make the right choice for Penn State.
The All Big Ten teams were announced Monday night. Six Nittany Lions made the list, and Devon Still won the Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year award. Brandon Beachum had surgery on his broken ankle. He's set to graduate in December and his career with the Lions has come to an end.
The Big Ten/ACC challenge starts today. Here's what simulations of the games predict.
As Jeff wrote yesterday, the women's volleyball team is seeded 8th in this years NCAA tournament. They also beat Ohio State last week. Micha Hancock won her third Big Ten Freshman of the Week award.
The 2012 men's lacrosse schedule has been released.

Is it a commitee or
a SUPERcommittee? I just hope it’s an effective committee.

I guess Beachum could be a candidate to apply to another school for his last year of eligibility and go to grad school.
I wish him luck in whatever he moves onto. Bummer injuries plalyed such a bad part of his career.
His legacy is US. The legacy of the young men who he took from a variety of backgrounds, races, religions, economic circumstances and set on a right path, and that's the legacy. WE ARE... the legacy, not his 409 wins and certainly not this incident." -Jimmy Cefalo
Dave Joyner:
“What do you mean I have no background in football?”
Yes, I'd assume that Kyle meant that none of the *other* people named have FB experience.

He played 30 years ago
and has had no direct involvement with either an athletic department role or coaching role since then. He’s a surgeon, not a coordinator. I can see people not directly associating him with being a “football man.”
On the board, there are a number of former athletes. Suhey, Arnelle, Lubert at top of mind in addition to Joyner. Guess he was the first one to volunteer to become AD.

I'm not sure he's done a lot of surgery
In the past 15 years.

$$$...
So, what is PSU willing to spend for a head football coach and staff?
Is it going to be Meyer-like $4 million per year, or a Dechellis-like $17 per hour?

I used to tell folks at BHGP that Ed got paid in Sheetz gift cards.
I haven’t seen anything to prove me wrong.

I think the previous head coach worked for the one on the right

Nope, Old Granddad
The Joe Paterno Debate: Whiskey
Old Crow is not something I recommend. Apparently, it was a fine bourbon at one time — in fact it was James Crow who invented the sour mash process. The original recipe is lost to time sadly.
Just for fun, I wiki’ed Old Crow and saw this:
“Pennsylvania brigade training at State College, Pennsylvania thought Old Crow was the only good thing to ever come out of the south.[citation needed] Fearing never being able to drink Old Crow again, the soldiers wrote Lincoln proclaiming “We must not let the fine gentleman Old Crow escape. Remember Mr. President, the crow with the sharpest talons holds on to barley forever.”"
