I'm not going to comment on the firings. School's still out on at least one of them. I'm choosing to channel my emotions in strange ways, so I'm focusing on this stuff. Also, I've been drinking a lot, and not in the good way. After this I'm peaceing out for tonight or forever or something.
Dear Board of Trustees,
You appeared dumbfounded by the notion that students would congregate in a potentially destructive way after this announcement. I guess it's because you're dumb. smashtheguitar and I and some other people figured this out in about 3 minutes earlier tonight. How did you not see this coming. I request that you personally cover the costs of all damage and clean up, because at least some of what happened could have been avoided. The students are ultimately responsible, but you made it worse. Furthermore, it's adding to the embarrassment of the university. Nice job.
Was this about showing leadership of the university? If so, can someone in a position of authority please send a clear signal that Penn State supports child abuse victims? Maybe the chairman said that, but I missed it, which means it probably wasn't said enough. Do something resembling anything. Throw some money at a charity. Someone suggested devoting the proceeds from the Nebraska game to a charity. That's an idea. Just do something.
Men of the board, more than half of you were in open collars. If you really have the university's best interests at heart, put on a fucking necktie. Show some respect, you hillbillies.
