Meineke Reps emailed the Houston Alumni Chapter President last night, inviting members to a "Bowl Selection Soiree" a week from today. I can't see a way to link the email but it was sent to be from a chapter member.

I just read an article on Doc Saturday

that said we were projected by many to go to the Insight (which has higher pecking order). The only way I see Insight taking us instead of Iowa is because Iowa was there last year. otherwise, I think we’re texas bound. Sponsors are quick to jump to us when we’re up (see: Gator bowl last year) or drop us when we’re down. And, obviously, I don’t mean up or down team-performance wise.

Unfortunately, there are a lot more people like that out there. It doesn’t matter what the truth is, just what people think. I don’t blame the bowls for not wanting to pick us. I blame the general public for taking their wrath out on the whole school instead of who’s responsible. (I wish we were playing on Fox tomorrow. It’d be ironic after the X Factor honored Michael Jackson this week.)
