With all of the negative press surrounding the University it was good to see such a positive take on Paterno's tenure at the university. It is an article on the just released data compiled by the New America Foundation on graduation rates in major college football. While we shouldn't be shocked to see Penn State at number 1, it seems like the rest of America may be surprised that Joe and Penn State actually did something other than harbor and enable child predators.
What is even more encouraging is the lack of an achievement gap (which is the rate at which the white players graduate in comparison to their black counterparts) between our white and black players, to put this in perspective #13 ranked LSU has a 32% achievement gap. Most BCS conference universities sport a sizable achievement gap, not PSU. So with all of the negativity in recent weeks we can hang our hat on the fact that Joe and the Staff still believed in the Grand Experiment until the end.
