Success With Hyperlinking - 12/7/2011
Finally, someone got it right. CBSSports.com released their 2011 All-America team. You'll notice that our Devon Still is First Team All-America. Where he belongs.
The carousel will continue spinning. Larry Fedora is in at North Carolina. Paul Petrino is leaving Illinois to go back to Arkansas to coach with his brother. Kevin Sumlin is now the primary target at Illinois. Coaches be movin' (except here).
Finally. After months of hemming and hawing, it looks like the Big East is finally going to expand and add Boise State, San Diego State, Houston, SMU and Central Florida. Air Force and Navy may join as football only members, and if one of them decides against it, it seems like Temple would be welcomed back into the fold. Insert "Big Directional" Joke here.
We got screwed. Sports Business Journal compiled a list of all the swag bowl games were giving out. The TicketCity Bowl needs to step its gotdamn game up.

Randy Edsall's a pllayer's coach, huh? Everything is going just fine at Maryland don't pay attention to the droves of players transferring and 2-10 record this year things are exciting look at those uniforms HEY GUYS STOP TRANSFERRING------
Oh, son... I feel terrible for the kid, but next time he should probably just take a knee in the end zone.
Early heads up. Basketball game tonight vs. Lafayette at the BJC. 7 pm tipoff. GO!

the Maryland fans are clueless
I read some of the comments they left:
“how does anyone think we can win with this idiot”
“Edsall is making us into a d2 program”
I mean it’s not like Edsall transformed UConn football into a yearly big east contender and led them to a BCS Bowl game. Oh wait…
I know a lot of my friends went to UMD, and a couple were involved with the program. A couple told me that Fridgen pretty much let all his players do whatever they wanted. This is probably the first time any of these kids on MD’s team have ever played for a coach that cared about discipline. I totally get why they’re leaving in droves
Defense wins championships
I'm not going to say they are clueless...
I can understand their frustration. Imagine our comments if we hire (put leading canidate’s name here), go 2-10, dress like court jesters doing it, and then players start fleeing. It wouldn’t be pretty.

Yea those “fans” must not have watched many games. Being in baltimore I got to see a ton of Maryland games. They were decimated by injuries this year. I recall one game they had nothing but freshman and sophomores starting on defense. That’s gonna make for some pretty stuff sledding.
It’s not like they were an all world team when Edsall took over, and the cupboard was left pretty bare.
There are some legitimate gripes about Edsall...
He turned issues pretty personal with several players. DJ Adams, a very quality big-back was benched for the majority of the season because he wore a do-rag to practice in the summer.
Edsall has reamed, absolutely reamed players out on the sideline and then trashed them in the press. Not once has Edsall taken any responsibility for the failures of the team.
Accountability is one thing. Digging into players and making things personal is not going to help the team. It also doesn’t help that he showed no ability to adjust to the abilities of the players. Danny O’Brien was tragically wasted this year. Maybe he’ll transfer to Penn State. He’s like Russel Wilson and will be able to transfer without sitting.

While the TCB does need to step their game up...
They are only in their second year…also it could be worse, they could have gone to the Sun Bowl and received a Hellen of Troy Hair Dryer……is Ronnie Bass playing QB in the Sun Bowl?

That kid and not taking a knee.
Read about that. Tough break, but how does anyone who actually plays the game not know basic rules (including Tyrran “”http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/16339078/once-again-tigers-march-to-mathieus-drum-and-roll-to-victory" target="new">You must possess the ball into the endzone" Mathieu).

I remember a Redskins game
When Brian Mitchell knelt on the 1 yard line because he WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION and thought he was in the endzone.

Best hope Craig James doesn't get to the gift suite first...

I'm worried about our offensive line next year
We lose 4 starters. Hopefully we recruited some 5 star scarecrows, stop signs, and safety cones!
You gotta believe
that somebody coming in will be a better OL coach than the split duty co-coaches we had. That never made much sense to me. With some of the talent we recruited the past three years, we should have a few capable starters.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
Hey, is this the wrong forum
to post about Denard Robinson pressuring sales associates for free T-shirts? Wonder how many times he was able to get free benefits at UofM?
