I agree that PSU needs to atone for its sins, but that is being handled by the appropriate people, i.e., the police and prosectutors at this point. The NCAA should stick to what it knows - fictional bylaws; while the Big10 should stick to what it knows - and I don't even know what this is - hypocrisy and kneeling to the Rose Bowl? The fact that these 'institutions' are piling on and likely complicating the process irks me to no end. Again, I get it. I have learned a lot about the relative importance of college sports, but they do not need to destroy an entire school over this. Penn State is making changes, being investigated and will be penalized monetarily and by reputation. Their rhetoric is prolonging the issue and not helping anybody. I think that Penn State, and hopefully college athletics, will be forever changed to some degreee by this. And that is good. The Big 10 and NCAA should let us work through this process, allow us to make changes, allow us to take our penalties and allow us to grow from this. We do not need abritrary sanctions to remind us that what happened was wrong. We know. This is a proud school with proud alumni...allow us to continue rebuilding our reputation. If they get in our way of rebuilding, then I vote for real change regarding our alignment with the Big 10...and the NCAA.
