Attn State College Residents: BSD is Comin' to Your Citaaay

For those of you in the State College area, as luck would have it I have some business in northwest PA next week, so I will be flying into State College on Monday. While there I thought it would be cool to have a little BSD get together to put some faces to the names. Here are the details.

When: Monday March 28 from 2 PM to ???

Who: Myself, Fugi, and NGameday will be there along with whoever else shows up.

Where: Cafe 210 West

Are you buying beer for everyone? Probably not. But I might buy the first few pitchers and a few appetizers if we get a good turnout.

I hope y'all can make it. Let me know in the comments so I get an idea on how many people to expect.

During the day, I believe they just run it like a restaurant and not a bar

at night though, they have a bouncer checking IDs at the gate.

Again, I have no idea. I've actually never been to Cafe 210

but I remember walking past it during the summer and there was no bouncer outside during the day/afternoon.

I’m sure they make sure that everyone is legal before people looking for just a bar start coming in. I mean, if this is an actual concern, I’d be happy to go and ask on behalf of all of us. I’m 23, so I’m ok, but I could ask about the younglings if it someone wants.

And it’s been quite some time since I visited the Caf, it does operate like a restaurant for most of the day. Eventually the bouncers to step in, and the kitchen severely cuts back their menu to where it’s really more of a bar that serves a few different appetizers. However, even after the bouncers start checking IDs, the waitstaff is still circling their tables at night, checking to see if anyone is looking to order food or drinks. So it would be up to the waitstaff to check IDs (which you know they will) and serve alcohol accordingly.

So yes, someone under 21 could get in to eat earlier in the day, hang out all day until it turns into a bar. But they’ll be carded by their waiter/waitress or bartender if they, or someone at their table, orders an “adult beverage”.

there would have to be two tables. I remember my dad couldn’t order a beer with dinner b/c I was at the table and under 21 at the time

Ah, the Cafe. Many a night I don't remember because of that place.

Sadly, the nights I do remember never really ended that well for me, anyway. I still can’t fathom how I managed to avoid being arrested during my time in State College. Boy, have things changed for me. I’m almost respectable now! I still could never run for President, though. Too many people know too much about my antics at that time.
