Don't worry, this one will be fun.
Early in the afternoon, a debate began about the relative ease of drinking Guiness vs. any generic light beer. Guiness is similar in caloric content, but less dense. This means that there is actually less mass in a pint of Guiness than in a pint of Bud Light. Others have pointed out that the possible foaminess of Guiness makes it slightly more filling.
So, we have designed a simple experiment to see if Guiness really is more difficult to drink than light beer. The challenge number is 10. Half of the BSDers that choose to participate shall time how long it takes to get through 10 Guiness tonight. The other half shall record how long it takes to get through 10 of the least offensive light beer they can stomach. For the purposes of this experiment, a beer shall be defined as 12 ounces. If you can't make it to 10, record the number that you get to. We may or may not make fun of you.
Tomorrow, do the opposite half of this experiment, i.e. drink Guiness if you drank Bud Light tonight.
On Sunday everyone shall recap their experiences. Possible bonus points may be awarded in a number of categories, including, but not limited to:
Number of beers consumed
Fastest time to 10
Most impressive (but harmless) shenanigan
Remember everyone, this is for science. If your girlfriend/wife/fiance (or boyfriend/husband/fiance) tries to give you a hard time about this, remind them of that simple fact. I will suffer through my hangovers in the name of science.
I will attempt Guiness tonight and Light Beer tomorrow.
Cheers.
