ESPN Fanwiches Contest
ESPN is running a facebook based contest called Fanwiches. Restaurants or users submit sports themed sandwiches for the contest and the entry with the most votes wins a trip to Bristol, CT. As a huge sports fan who owns a restaurant with all the sandwiches named after Penn State athletes, coaches, professors, presidents, etc, this is something I would really like to win.
Our entry is The Ultimate Hero - Adam Taliaferro. It is an actual sandwich from our restaurants menu in State College.
Please click on the link and give us a vote.

As with my stadium reviews that you all comment on for me, thanks for your time.
Aww, look at you. You created a Fanpost! Any content from a premium site that requires a subscription will be deleted once we catch wind of it. If you simply want to share a link, quote, or video, please consider using Fanshots instead. Thanks.

VOTED!
Good luck!
Small note: There’s a typo on your entry. I think you mean ‘decadent’, not ‘decedent’. Anywho. Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.

Well, technically the pig that provided the ham
would be the decedent.

Have any of the former players
ever come in and ordered the sandwich that was named after them?
This is BSD, the crazy stirs itself.
that would be so awesome!
or, if two players that didn’t get along, and one really wanted the other one’s named sandwich, would he still order it? yeah, I’m overthinking.
Anyway, I voted! And good luck!

Oops
Yeah, meant decadent…can’t do anything about it now.
I have had people refuse to say a person’s name because they didn’t like that person but nothing too bad. Also, some people have asked us to change their sandwich because they didn’t like it.
Lots of former athletes have come in and tried their food. Too many to list but here are a few of our experiences.
Wally Richardson brought his entire family and they all got Wally Richardson’s.
Pete Lisicky gave us a signed game worn jersey that is now on display.
Robbie Gould was always real nice to us and signed a few menus for me.
Graham Spanier called one day to tell us he loved his sandwich.

Next time I'm in State College,
I’ll have to come by and try one of your sandwiches! Of course, I have no idea when that will be!!

If anyone wants to give me a place to stay,
I will be there :o)
This is BSD, the crazy stirs itself.
unfortunately, I can't help you on that one
I might, just might, be able to get you an extra ticket, though. Prob shouldn’t have brought it up cuz it’s not a definite, but I’m not good at keeping things to myself.

I may stay with a friend's parents who live in State College.
Or I may see if my college roommate in Pittsburgh wants to do the one day trip since it’s probably going to be a 3:30 game, or I may look into getting a hotel in Altoona. I’m playing it by ear!

You should arbitrarily
raise the price of the Graham Spanier sandwich every year. Just like tuition, AMIRITE?

It would be more accurate
if the price went up while you were eating it.

I promise
I am in full compliance with the rules.
No player still in school can get a discount or have a sandwich named after them, even if they have used all eligibility. The things we do get checked with a person certified in NCAA compliance.

just to be clear
you own the Fraser Street Deli? Awesome.

also, we are Penn State
with a member of BSD submitting an entry into a contest based off Adam Taliaferro. This thing should have way more than 139 fans for 5th place. First place has 567 fans, we should easily be able to top that.

Yes and
I would think that as word gets around it will get more votes.
I have already hit up my facebook and fraternity email list to gather votes, plus some friends I have from sports travel and twitter.
Kevin McGuire (CFBExaminer) (PSUExaminer) forwarded it on for me along with
blogger & former UNC player Michael Felder (InTheBleachers)
blogger Adam Kramer (kegsneggs)
and Washington Post writer Patrick Stevens (@D1scourse)
Unfortunately that exhausts all my groups of friends. I tried to get @gopsusports1 to send something but they didn’t respond.
If anyone has any ideas or can pass it along, that would be awesome.
I put up some signs at work and a QR code, which generated a few votes but at my age, I’m not the best person to design a viral campaign.
@collegiatestdms
wow so the @ key does odd things @
That is Kevin McGuire – CFBExaminer and PSUExaminer
Blogger & former UNC player Michael Felder – InTheBleachers
Blogger Adam Kramer – kegsneggs
Washington Post sports writer Patrick Stevens – D1scourse
sorry about that
@collegiatestdms
I think it is one of the auto formats
when things are placed in between @ symbols it does that
like this
and when placed between _ symbols
does this
and when placed between – symbols
does this
and when placed between * symbols
does this
I wonder what happens if multiple symbols are used
like this (adding the @ didn’t work)
by The JuggerNitt on May 13, 2011 9:48 AM EDT up reply actions
sarcasm font?
nah it'll never work
I’m sorry, but blanket statements are proven false 99% of the time, and if you make a blanket statement about college football, there’s a good chance that one exception will be Joe Paterno. - AdamShell @ BSD
Hot damn...it worked!

ooh, that would be a good use.
Though I do prefer my sarcasm to be more subtle and easily misunderstood.

The Jimmy Kennedy
is the mother of all sandwiches.
If anyone could win a super bowl with an 11-9 overall record, it would be Michael Robinson
