In Search of Info on the Wiz
Greetings Black Shoe Diaries! I have traversed the blogosphere from Silver and Black Pride to discuss your former player and our current player, Mr Stefen Wisniewski. Any information you can offer up will be greatly appreciated as I plan on taking any info you can offer and reposting on S&BP.
We have read the scouting reports and seen the highlights, but that really paints an incomplete and often contradictory picture. I've always felt the best way to get a real feel for a player is to talk to the people that watch him play in and play out. And that is one of the truly great things about SBN. We all have easy access to this tremendous wealth of information.
So, as I said anything you can share is fantastic. But the one thing that I am hoping you guys can add a little insight on is his chances of handling big physical nose tackles. One of the few knocks on Wisniewski is his lack of lower body strength will lead to him getting overpowered by bull rushing DTs.
Aww, look at you. You created a Fanpost! Any content from a premium site that requires a subscription will be deleted once we catch wind of it. If you simply want to share a link, quote, or video, please consider using Fanshots instead. Thanks.

He'll add weight once he gets into an NFL program
That’s the only thing I can see holding him back. His technique can break down a bit sometimes, but he’s already got the mental aspect of the game down. He’s extremely intelligent (3-time Academic All-American? I know he with honors from the Honors College), and like they say, you can fix technique but you can’t fix stupid.
I voted “multiple Pro Bowls” not because I think it’ll be a perennial thing, but I could definitely see him making a couple over his career.

His technique only really broke down when he was facing linemen who have themselves been drafted.
Just another drifter who broke the law.

Right
I never said it broke down constantly and consistently, I just said it broke down a bit at times.
SAME TEAM SAME TEAM /trips over teammate going for rebound
Nice...I will take that.
That is something you definitely expect to improve with practice

problem is the nfl is full of lineman that have been drafted
I wouldn’t give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed.
What you've got in the Wiz
Is a great natural athlete with a mean streak and ridiculously high football IQ. His technique isn’t always perfect but it is sound. I think this is a guy who somehow quietly goes to 5 or 6 pro bowls and ends up in the HOF if the Raiders win a Super Bowl or two during his career.
I've got the brains. You've got the looks. Let's make lots of money.

Sounds good to me.
A mirror image of his uncle

In addition to a high character
guy he is an unselfish and verstile player. He took over center in 2009 out of neccesity and excelled.
I know Todd McShaw was guffawing about him but the Raiders got a hard worker.
Unsupervised children will be given a case of 4loco and a basket of kittens
I'm not thrilled with his shotgun snapping.
Always thought it was a bit too slow. He always appeared better at OG, although McShay and Kiper both proudly announced that the Raiders drafted him as a C.
Who knows?
Take a shower, shine your shoes...
Oh yeah...that's another question I meant to ask
was the comparison of him at C vs G. Hue Jackson already said he’d be playing center. Which was kinda surprising, and who knows it may change.

He's going to be good one way or the other.
I think he’s a better OG, but he couldn’t have asked to have been put in a better situation. He’s an excellent pass blocker and a more than capable run blocker. In your system, he’ll only get stronger and better with the latter.
Definitely helps to have his uncle as his coach.

Very surprised he's going to be a C
He is great as a G, only good as a C.
His ability to get to the second level is what seperated him as a G at PSU. He was excellent on the combo, and then hauling ass to cut off the LB’s. He always seemed to take the right angles, and his footwork was excellent.
I guess Satele’s time in Silver and Black is over
I got Tiger Blood running through my veins!
He’s one of the most athletic linemen we’ve had at Penn State. He is very quick, reasonably strong, and solid in most protection situations. He’s also the best downfield blocker I can remember at PSU. He’s also got the proper body size, a lack of which is what held back great PSU linemen like A.Q. Shipley.
If he has a good pro coach, he’ll be a really good pro player. If he’s surrounded by average coaches or incompetents, he won’t improve that much, but will still probaby be decent.
Just another drifter who broke the law.
Nice. Thanks
One of his coaches will be his uncle.

You get a very bright guy
Who will do everything and anything the coaches ask him to do. He will be a great representative of the organization and a darn good player too.
It's even possible that Jim Tressel drinks out of the toilet
You can't ask for much more than that

I know a lot of people don't care about this
but he was an Academic All American and honors scholar.
He has done mission trips to the Dominican Republic and wants to teach little children

The Raiders have actually made an effort to bring in higher character guys
Not that they will all be as saint like Wiz, but they do have a bunch of hard workers. In the age of spoiled athlete kudos to Wiz for doing that, and for Penn State and Joe Pa for turning athletes into real men!

Wiz is a very good player
You will get a guy who will work hard and do everything he is asked. He will do what is best for the team, just like he did at PSU. He will also never be a problem off the field. You will be able to count on him to play every Sunday…unless he has a bad injury…and give it his all each time out. I can see him having a long and solid career in the league.
Go to The Wiz
And select it.
Take it off the rack,
if it’s Wac
put it back.
I like the Rob, so f*&( the Big Mac!
