Bill Downey returns to Penn State Ice Hockey
Bill Downey will be coming to Penn State for a third time in his life, as he was named the new Director of Hockey Operations. After a very successful playing career with the Icers, Downey bounced around some scouting and assistant coaching jobs before returning to Penn State as an assistant coach from 2008-2010. This past year, Downey worked as the Director of Hockey Operations for Harvard.
A great asset to Penn State hockey, and a great guy all-around. Welcome back (again), Billy Downey!

I can vouch for him being a good guy
I worked with him in my very early days at the Collegian and he was a class act. Very cool to see he’ll be back.

pretty funny that he was at harvard after penn state considering I believe when they interviewed him about coming to psu the first time he said something like he was on his way to harvard but ran out of gas. Definitely a good guy though weird to see him have such a serious role as I hung out with him a bunch in college and none of it was serious
Believe deep down in your heart that you are destined to do great things
