[Bumped for beating me by two whole minutes. We'll have a full analysis of Mornhinweg for you soon. Go check out Jason and the SBN Philly guys sometime. - CG]
The Inquirer's Jeff McLane is reporting that QB Skyler Mornhinweg, the son of Eagles offensive coordinator (and noted QB guru) Marty Mornhinweg, will reportedly commit to Penn State for 2012.

Nyan?
We drink and we dry up and now we crumble into dust. We get wet and we corrode and now we're covered up in rust.

If I had known him in school, I would have made fun of his first name.
Then he would have punched me. But it might have been worth it.
Scratch where it itches.
Apologies to any Skylers in the BSD community,
but when did that become a legit first name?
I'm just here for the beer.

He's originally from San Francisco.
Maybe it’s a common name on the left coast.

so what you're saying
is that Skyler Mornhinweg is a fancy boy?

An announcement immediately after visiting campus
is almost always a good thing.

Let's say what this really means
For all those who have been hypercritical of Jay and Penn State’s ability to develop quarterbacks – Marty Mornhinweg (a “noted QB guru” and longtime NFL coach) just encouraged his son to commit to Penn State to play QB. Things were never as bad as you made them out to be.

Either that...
or Marty Mornhinweg knows something we don’t know…
…that he’ll be walking the sidelines in a few years coaching his son.
jk but there are worse options

Jim Harbaugh wanted him to play QB. That means something to me.

The recruiting services don’t seem to be in love with him but the people that matter – recruiters from major college programs – seem to be. Its always nice to beat out the Notre Dames and Alabamas of the world for any kid.

He also apparently led a bunch of 4th quarter comebacks in HS.

Reports are, and someone that has actually watched him can verify, that he was the entire St. Joe's team.

Yeah
He’s a Catholic Leaguer at the Prep, he can play.
It's funny
St. Joe’s Prep was an absolute dynasty as short as 5 years ago in the Philly area, then their coach got fired or something out of impatience for some unknown reason (see school got spoiled), now they are toiling from good to mediocre.
This. This this this.

Or, is the Sky(ler) falling
right into our grasp?

Can we get Tim Ryan's thoughts on this?

“I tell ya, that Skyler Morn-heg-wig kid has a lot of upside. His dad, Marty Morn-heg-wig, is a heck of a football coach and a better father. These two Morn-heg-wigs have a lot to look forward to come 2012.”
(Eagles fans should get this.)
"Is that a shot at me? 'cause that makes me want to read it all the less."
