A CALL TO ARMS - SNACKS ON SNACKS

ATTENTION READERS OF BLACK SHOE DIARIES! WE NEED YOUR HELP! It's been about a week since the new staff took over and we've been promising exciting new things to go along with the new style of BSD that you're hopefully getting more comfortable with. While I can confirm that no less than three new projects are underway, it's time for us to kick off the first of our new plans, and we thought we'd start with some lighter fare (pun intended). Starting next Thursday, and then every Thursday thereafter, we're going to feature a new recipe and open up a thread for everyone to discuss their favorite foods. During the season, each post will be tailgate themed, and we've already confirmed with jesse. that he, and his mother, will be sharing some more of their favorite meals. Along with those established fan favorites we'll be reaching out to other foodies to share some of their best dishes. But most importantly, we're opening the front pages of Black Shoe Diaries to you, the loyal reader. Next week's post will be taken by one of our new staff members, but thereafter we'd like to encourage all of you to submit your favorite recipes. Each week, we'll pick a different staff member, reader, or contributor to feature and everyone else can share in the deliciousness. But I thought this was a Penn State blog? What's with the addition? We congregate here over a shared love of Penn State, but that doesn't mean we can't share other loves, most notably food (and possibly drink as well). This lighter post will help usher in the weekend and give you some ideas of what to make while you engage in even more Penn State discussion with family and friends. And we'll take a debate over which cut of meat is best or which chili recipe reigns supreme over a debate about recruiting stars any day! So start thinking about what you might want to see made, who you might want to see featured, and which recipes you might want to contribute. If you're chosen, you'll have near-free reign of content production; pictures, tips, tricks of the trade, and as much "dish" as you'd like are encouraged. BON APPETIT!
