Who are the greatest male athletes in Penn State history? No, no women yet because there are enough sports just with men as is. Also, I'm lazy. Also, I know nothing about most women's sports at PSU. First, the other, non-football sports:
Baseball - How should I know?
Basketball - Jesse Arnelle. All-American, captain of our final four team, and holder of several records.
Cross country - Did the Greek guy who ran the first Marathon go to PSU? I don't know.
Fencing - Uh, the bad guy from Rob Roy?
Golf - Golf is a college sport? We have golfers?
Gymnastics - I don't know.
Ice hockey - Mario Lemieux! Woo hoo!
Lacrosse - Evan Royster?
Soccer - Uhhhh
Swimming & Diving - Uhh, Speedomike?
Tennis - Guy Haines from that Hitchcock movie about the train or whatever?
Track & Field - Did Eric Liddell go to PSU?
Volleyball - I don't know.
Wrestling - Kerry McCoy. Two-time national collegiate folkstyle champion, two or three All-American finishes, two-time Olympian, four-time world champion, five-time U.S. freestyle national champion. Winningest wrestler in PSU history. Current head coach at Maryland.
So, obviously I need some input from you'uns on the best athletes from our other sports.
Football? Well, we're going to include them. We have to. I thought about doing a poll, I thought about Ham, and Lenny, and others, but I decided to give it to our Heisman winner.
Heck yeah.
