Lift for Life donation page - What happened? (UPDATED)

I went to the Uplifting Athlete's website to check on Sam Ficken's total contributions so far. His name is no longer on the list. Anyone have any idea what could have happened? Should I email Mike Farrell again? I hope he's still competing or, if not, they'll let us choose someone else instead. It just seems weird that his name was removed. I still need nine words to hit 75. WE ARE...

UPDATE: Just got an answer from Mike Farrell about why Sam Ficken has been taken off the list. Here it is...

"Sam Ficken has been taken off the list along with the rest of the freshman because we found out we were breaking a rule by having them raise money since they are not officially NCAA athletes until camp starts or something along those lines. All the money donated by your organization and by others to the freshman still went into our general fund for our total funraising and we really appreciate BSD's support every year. Perhaps next year you will still consider donating but to an upperclassman rather than a freshman since it will not be an option. Hope to see you today and let me know if there is anything I can help you with. Thanks."

That is odd.

I see other guys not on the list. Where’s Bill Belton, for example? I don’t know if he was on the list initially or not.

I thought it might be a true freshman thing, but Alosi is on the list.

Those are some awesome team names.

Couple names I’m surprised to not see are Bolden, Redd, and Lynn.

starting qb's rarely compete..........

same as other specialists. Remember, Lynn had a bum shoulder last year, I don’t think they would take the chance of him hurting it in an event like this and Redd is going to be hit enough this season.

Another reason he may not be on the lift. Still, it doesn’t explain his disappearance. You can still collect money and not compete.

Sorry, sorry, sorry!!!

Desire’nLion, psuesq and I were working the door at LFL and were really busy….which is a good thing. The bad thing was we didn’t get to talk to anyone about why the freshmen were listed in the first place and where exactly did our donations go to. I’m going to get in touch with one of the PSU staff who works closely with LFL and find out where the $$$ is (I’m assuming a general donation fund).
