Success with Hyperlinking is Happy that it's August
Well it's finally August. It's been just about 7 months since the last meaningful football game was played, and now we're on the verge of a new season that is full of promise. One of my favorite things about the internets is that you can find all manners of Penn State videos on YouTube. So with each post this month, I'm going to be sharing some of my favorite Penn State pump up videos with you all.
Penn State Football 2009 Pump Up Video - Blue White Football Podcast (via mikewolfpsu07)
This guy must be a Temple fan. The unnamed author of this article brings up five questions surrounding the Penn State football program this year... and then proceeds to cast each issue in a negative light. Bernard Fernandez, on the other hand, manages to stay away from the negativity in his recap of JoePa's media day presser. He also makes a pretty interesting observation at the end.
I guess Terrelle Pryor isn't going to be drafted after all. According to this tweet from John Clayton, Pryor is ineligible for the supplemental draft.Meet Trey Lewis, the Ohio Division 1 Co-Player of the Year and future Penn State basketball star.
On a more serious note, while sports are an entertaining distraction, sometimes real life decides to intervene. With that in mind, I'd like to offer up my well wishes (on behalf of all of the writers) for Jimbo Fisher's 5 year son who is fighting a rare blood disorder that is potentially life threatening. In the same vein, Chic Kelly is fighting to get the NCAA to cover his continuing medical expenses stemming from an injury he received while playing hockey for Merrimack College in 1988. The injury has left him quadriplegic and in need of a full time nurse.
Here is part two of Thank You Terry's look at Penn State's ice hockey history. And also, here's a look at some of the *misplaced* criticism Penn State is receiving for starting up their hockey program. Sometimes, haters gonna hate.
The ESPN brain trust of Brian Bennett and Adam Rittenberg have declared Michael Mauti to be the 24th best player in the Big Ten going into the year. And here's an interview with Mauti during the Big Ten Media Days

I could very easily see them snubbing Redd and Lynn
on that top 25 list. It’ll be interesting to see where they put Moye. Well, they better include Moye, anyway.
Lynn
is greatly underrated. Mostly because no one likes to throw to him. He not only is very good in coverage, but he never misses tackles. Okay, not literally, but he’s a very, very good tackling DB.

the mark of a good CB is rarely hearing his name
and I rarely hear them say Lynn during games.
Fire Dan Snyder
just off the top of my head
moye has to be one of the top 10 guys in the conference. Not just wr, but top 10 player at any position. Kid is a gamer.

It was sealed
when he single-handedly kept Penn State in the Michigan State game, with the touchdown catch, and also morphing into Superman stealing away the MSU interception return giving the ball back to PSU on the same play.
If PSU won that game, it would have been the biggest effort play of the season across the entire conference.

Absolutely.
I think the only thing that would have come close was Persa’s game-winning TD as he was getting knocked out for the year.
Speaking of that game, is there anyway I can get Moye’s highlights from MSU, or even PSU-MSU highlights from this past season? Can’t find them anywhere :(
I think most people
including myself, deleted that game from the DVR. Though, I did have to rewatch the whole thing first. I’m sick like that.

Yeah, it was a killer to watch.
But I really was just interested in the Moye highlights. It’s always entertaining to watch a player carry a team and play out of his mind.
I was there for that game
we left early when it looked like things were sealed up, but then all that craziness happened. I watched it all on the jumbotron standing on the side of the road outside the stadium.

plus
wasn’t he part of that crazy Alabama int and strip play? If he plays with half the heart as he did last season, it would still be more than most of the kids in this conference.

I've said before
that that was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in a losing effort. Kurt Warner in the Super Bowls he lost and LeBron James against the Celtics in game 7 of the Eastern Conference playoffs a few years ago are the only ones with it
is there anyway i can redeem myself, i was not sure if i should say "we" at that moment

What about LeBron in 2010 vs the Celtics?
I’m sorry, that was a low-blow CK. I know you are a fan but I couldn’t help myself.
I think Lynn will make it
But I highly doubt that Redd will. While he put up some nice numbers last year, he hasn’t really done anything of note. He’ll make the post season list though.

I'll take that any day.

That video
is probably my favorite. I can’t ever find the 2006 stadium video (gladiator, all the great 2005 highlights) so this one wins top spot. I think its funny that its launced the theme song to “John Adams” to the top of my workout list.

Loop whole? Loop whole?
Oh! Loophole!!
Whatever point that hockey poster was making might have been legit, but damned if I could tell. I was laughing too hard at “loop whole”.
Can anyone tell me what's keeping Clark out of the NFL?
HIs arm is good enough to make all the throws. His footwork and mechanics were a little raw and inconsistent, but if Tebow can be a first round pick I can’t imagine his are unfixable by a Pro QB coach. 60% completion rate in our offense is actually really good (we don’t just throw a bunch of quick slants, outs, and stops that are easy completions). He rarely made bad decisions – most of his picks were his ill-timed over-throws. He’s certainly got an “NFL body.” He was too emotional at times (too high when things were going great, too low when they weren’t) but I’d think he’d get over that with age as well. IMO he would have lit the world on fire last year with the emergences of Moye, Brown, and Brackett. So what gives? What am I missing?
Plus he is a high
character guy and a hard worker – all qualities NFLers say they want.
I am looking forward to hearing an hypothesis.
'Trivializing the "GREATEST RIVALRY OF ALL TIME" for a bunch of ghetto tats must have made them pee in their man-diapers.' Mr. Rosewater
I feel the same way, especially with some guys on rosters.
Sorry but Kafka was not a better prospect or QB than Clark. There are many others out there sitting in the 3rd or 4th QB slots that fall into that category. I don’t get it either. Thighpen from Indiana and now Chappell even getting signed. Chappell sucked.
My grammer skills need improved.
I'd much rather have Clark
then Chappellon the Skins

@runthedive
kafka was pretty good.
He also seemed to play his best in big situations. I think kafka was definitely a better pro prospect. I always thought Clark was solid, but not great. Wish him the best. Hopefully, he can get his stuff together and impress some scouts.

This is probably it.
His footwork and mechanics were a little raw and inconsistent
I do think he’d be able to stick in the right situation though. I’m not sure if he’s still up in Calgary or what, though.

I hope he gets a chance to play
And then some NFL team takes a chance on him. He may never be a star, but I’d bet he could be a solid backup

If Vince Young can back up Vick, so can Clark.

Haha totally agree
Clark has a much better attitude than VY

Dan Snyder had put Sexy Rexy Grossman on contract, what, a month earlier?
It’s not like he’s going to make that mistake again. Oh, wait. Oh well, good news, everybody who is a fan of a competent NFL franchise!
