Tickets to PSU Home Games
Hey all,
I've done my due diligence in writing this up and obtaining the coveted season tickets for this year's games (and thats not the only good news). The good news is (for ya'll) that I won't be going to every game this year because I am expecting a change in jobs in the fall, which will require a move on my part...but I digress on to the details!
2 season tickets: Section EH Row 2 Seats 10 & 12 (Got them Monday)
Seatbacks: Haven't decided yet. I've sat on them, but feedback is appreciated regardless.
Parking: Not provided, I figure I'll let whoever wants 'em to make whatever arrangements they please
No sale: Bama and Huskers - (I know these are the big draw games and I am going)
Like I told Kevin in an e-mail I'd like to be able to get these out to BSD people, because even though I have yet to meet you all. I have enjoyed your stories, jokes, commentary (You especially Rambler since you know, you ramble, like a coworker of mine who thinks the Scorpions is the greatest band ever to have existed) so this is my way to give back in some measure.
One final disclaimer: Family has first priority (specifically and only my dad), so if he all of a sudden decides he wants to go to another game besides the two I mentioned. I apologize for reneging in advance and will make it up to you with my breaded bacon recipe.
Thanks again everybody -we can discuss more details in comments or you can contact me directly at djl247@gmail.com

Am I the only one that hates seatbacks?
Honestly, they’ve only ever made me feel uncomfortable, leg room wise.

I do, too.
I went with cushions only this year.
No cushions, no seat backs: Neighbors don’t respect your authoritah for space. This does not occur often, but enough. And, to be honest, the width of each person’s space is inversely proportionate to the size of your row neighbors’ butts. I rode the steel this way for all but two seasons.
Seat backs: Protects you from foreign butt invasion. However, when the guy or gal in front of you slides back on his or her seat for more room, you basically get a free piggyback ride on their shoulders because you have nowhere to put your legs and you cannot slide back. I had them for one season and said never again.
Cushions: Basically seat backs without the backs. All of the territory protection and comfort of seat backs with none of the borderline assault on the person in front of you. I had them for one season and will again this fall.
"Is that a shot at me? 'cause that makes me want to read it all the less."
I was on the same line with the cushions only
Need them to respect the space at a minimum, far too often do I feel that those who are in wrong seats and take slide you down on the bench are people trying to impress themselves upon others for no better than just to do so. I am probably going to have cushions only.

I feel like I am leaning forward, they hurt my back
Our new seats are in row 9 in EJ. I am going to miss the seats in the upper south end zone.

if the person in front of you also has seat backs, you're good
other than that, you’re wide open to the world.
For people with bad backs like myself, I actually carry in a seatback with a back, and that works much better (and was cheaper).

I have 4 seats on the aisle so I have been thinking about getting one cushion for my inside marker.
My wife’s neck and back bother her without a seatback but she doesn’t care for the PSU seatbacks. She has a soft, fold open seat with a back that works great for her. I usually just sit on a carry in cushion, but the two guys behind us last year, (in the seats I will miss in WAU) had the cushions and they were pretty nice. I usually sit in the inside farthest seat of the four so we keep our 18 inches per butt (only 16.5 in the big house, PSU would be the largest in the country if we only had 16.5) but a cushion there would mark my spot well.

Cushions-only
Is the way I am going, seen we are in the middle of the row and at this point the cost is a drop in the bucket. I think after dragging my dad as a SR back in 06 to stand through the entire game, the luxury of butt padding has been earned.

I have a lounge lizard
It looks like that. But I may have to get one of those. I can’t go unbranded.

No...
that will just start another 3 hour monologue about piric-acid, thermite and industrial safety audits.

Breaded Bacon
There is no history to this recipe in so far as all I got was what my grandmother does. She’s never showed me exactly but heres what you need:
Bacon
2 Cups of Bisquick, or Corn Starch
1 tsp sugar
toss bacon in Corn Starch and sugar so its covered evenly. (If you want it super crunchy on the outside, set aside for a few minutes to allow the bacon to absorb the corn starch and repeat). Bake in oven at 350 degrees on greased cookie sheet or foil lined for 10 minutes, flip, and 10 more in the oven.
Viola breaded bacon.
P.S. You can deep fry it if you wanna cheat. Palm or coconut oil is my pick.

Yes. Was just thinking about that, actually.

I didn't want my post to preempt the BSD Ticket Exchange
I just wanted to get it out there early so I didn’t have to do work during the season with unloading tickets. I like my saturdays to be lazy like my sundays, blame the Papist in me.

Cool. I’d rather unload my tickets to fellow BSD’ers at a break even than make a ton off StubHub and have some donkeys sitting in my seats.
Good for you.
Sell to Penn Staters at cost rather then StubHub and have the enemy invade our stadium.
Good for you. You are the man (unless you do happen to be female; then you da bomb!).

Wheelchair seating
I got my tickets in the mail the other day. Section SD Row WC. I was hoping WC stood for “Will-call”, as in, the student section. However, it turns out that WC means “Wheelchair”; which is seating on the concourse right behind the student section.
Has anybody sat in wheelchair seating here before? If so, are the views good? Do they provide a physical seat if you’re not disabled?
