Optimistic about this weeks loss? Are you one of the great Penn State fans that was optimistic about this past weeks loss to Alabama? I most definitely am! Sadly the pollsters do not agree with us.

Here is our movement in the polls:

AP Poll: #23 to #33 -10
USA Today Coaches Poll: #20 to #30 -10

In comparison, Mississippi State lost to Auburn, who barely squeaked by the WAC Utah State Aggies
AP Poll: #16 to #25 -9
USA Today Coaches Poll: #17 to #25 -8

So, Mississippi State loses to an unranked team and falls 8.5 (ave). Penn State losses to the #3 (now #2) ranked team and falls 10 places. Maybe it was the point spread in the wins? (7 vs 16) Is it that early season mess that rankings normally are? (unproven teams) I am NOT an expert in the polls, but it seems that they have much less faith in our Penn State team then we do.
