Hey, how did you your spend your weekend? Me, I just spent a beautiful, sunny Saturday hanging out and watching football, nothing could possibly go wrong, right?
Well, perhaps things did go all pear shaped, as Penn State did as much to defeat themselves as Alabama did. The lead storyline of the weekend was, "did you know you can play football under electric luminescence? We truly live in a remarkable age, let us make up imaginary uniforms from the past this celebrate this invention." Otherwise, first week returns proved as unreliable an indicator as ever with a surprising number of close games between seemingly lopsided match-ups. Take a look at the BlogPoll below the fold, as always questions, corrections, suggestions and objections are welcome.

SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Top 25 Rankings "
For obvious reasons, BYU, Iowa and Penn State all move out. Missouri isn't really punished going on the road and barely losing to an Arizona State squad I had ranked just above them. Auburn makes a return this week after defeating Mississippi State, I'm not sure those Tigers aren't actually coached by Les Miles as well since they have all the qualities of LSU teams in recent years that somehow continue winning every week despite all evidence that would indicate otherwise. Maybe that game will have the Bulldogs prepared for the real LSU this Thursday. Michigan pops in for simply being the entertaining after dinner mint of the day, but looks pretty much like a redux of last year. Going forward, we've got a Top 6 contest between Oklahoma and Florida State on Saturday that will probably play a key role in determining how the MNC race takes shape.
