I'm writing today's SwH from Happy Valley as I've been attending the various job fairs this week. It's nice to be back here, but it's amazing how much things change here in short periods of time.

Sophomore middle blocker Katie Slay was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

The men's ice hockey team picked up another commitment last week. This one in the form of defenseman Thomas Welsh. Saturday was also the 1 year anniversary of the announcement that Penn State would be moving to D1 hockey.

GoPSUSports has interviews with Jack Crawford and Mike Zordich. Apparently they're fielding questions from twitter to ask these guys. Tweet @gopsutony if you have questions for players. Crawford discusses his favorite athlete of all time, and Zordich talks a bit about the short lived Zord-Stashe, and gets a pretty serious question later in the interview.

Here's a nice roundup of how former Penn Staters did in the NFL this week. Sean Lee and Navorro Bowman both had big games for their teams.

Surprising about J. King. Did he have 9 total tackles in three years at Penn State (sarc)? Actually, I am proud of his contributions to the Rams. Good job, Justin.

If we could just get Connor playing up to the others’ levels, WOW. If they keep playing like last week, we might have 4-5 All-Pro LB’s……. Poz, Lee, Bowman, Hali. Add in Connor and Wake. Just shows we are really LBU! Suck that tOSU and twUSC!

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

Tackles are a function of playing time.

And if you’re a CB, you don’t want a lot. It means either the other team’s RB made it to the 2nd level or your man is catching a lot of passes. I’d have to see more to know if he’s playing well or just accumulating stats.

I don't know if NFL lifting programs had much to do with it

since they were banned from going this offseason. But I do remember seeing pictures of him working out with Poz a few months ago, and he was as big or bigger than Poz. That was what shocked me!
