Here's a few beer-friendly foods to go with your steins and lederhosen for your in-home tailgates this Saturday. I have personally sampled each of these this week, and recommend you get someone like Mel to make them for you.
Start with Reuben Sliders. I prefer these by the dozen.
The beer goes down easier when you are washing down a few Pickled-Deviled Eggs. I usually stop at six.
Of course, you can't forget to include Kielbasi, the 'OTHER' Oktoberfest Sausage! Our household is torn between sources in Western and Eastern PA . Mel prefers Johnstown-procured stuff, while I prefer Dickson City/Olyphant sources. You cannot go wrong simmering up a few rings at halftime. Do not forget the horseradish mustard!
If you really want to have a fancy fiber-filled snack that the beer swills well with, I recommend Apple Slices with Horseradish Cheese, or Pear Slices with Truffle-Mousse. mmmmm.....mmmmm....good!
All of these goodies and thier recipes were posted this week at Jessedotsmom's Foodie Website.
