....if he finds some success early. There is no way Joe is going to second guess himself based on yesterday's performances and suddenly go with McGloin as the starter for Bama. Joe also knows how Bolden has practiced with the whole playbook, which will be revealed against Bama. In my opinion, when Joe named Bolden the starter for ISU, he knew he was also naming the starter for Bama. Not that I think the QB battle is over, but Joe knows he needs some level of continuity going into Bama, at least for that game, and nothing so drastic happened yesterday that says he needs to disrupt that. And if Bolden finds early success next Saturday, there is absolutely no way he gets pulled simply in the interest of providing an "equal opportunity" to both QBs. I think we can all agree that the QB carousel yesterday was an absolute mess simply because it gave no single QB the opportunity to settle in and find a rhythm.
So in short, in my opinion the decision has already been made. Bolden will start, and he's only coming out of the game if he doesn't perform.
