Board of Trustees Nominations

I received an e-mail for my nominations of trustees. I am willing to nominate those who want to change the structure and transparency of the board. Sadly, we won't be able to ouster Joyner, as he is voluntarily stepping down. You are invited to participate in the annual election of trustees. The alumni elect three trustees annually for three year terms. Those whose terms expire this year on June 30 are: David R. Jones ’54 Montclair, NJ David M. Joyner ’72, ’76MD Hummelstown, PA Anne Riley ’64, ’75g Boalsburg, PA Mr. Jones is not seeking re-election because he decided two years ago to limit his board tenure to 15 years, which will be in June. Dr. Joyner has advised that, because of his ongoing commitment to the University as Acting Athletic Director, he will not seek re-election. Qualifications for Membership, the Statement of Trustee Responsibilities and Expectations of Membership on the Board of Trustees as well as a current listing of the members are provided for your information. Special attention should be given to the qualification requirements, responsibilities, and expectations when determining your nominations.

I got mine too.

Ironically, my email to the BOT was basically, “You guys are idiots”. In response, I got, “Thank you for requesting a BOT ballot.”

Don’t forget Adam Taliaferro. Class of 2005.

Three Nominees

For one, Adam Taliaferro is not on my ballot; seems in his last public statements he sidetracked Joepa and never gave props to him for all that has happened good in his life. I need a third name at this time, so if anyone comes up with a good one let us all know. Was thinking Suepa but does Joe being an employee of the University disqualify her? My two are: Lubrano and DALE LEHMAN. Here’s Dale’s bio and believe-you-me, this guy bleeds blue and white:

Degrees, 1981 BS in Agricultural Engineering, 1983 MS in Agricultural Engineering – Master Thesis Research Topic was Low-level Radioactive Waste Disposal Site Selection Criteria and Screening

During my career at Penn State, I was a Member of the Blue Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity (President my senior year), Parmis Nous, and Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society.

In my thirty years since leaving Penn State I have been a practicing engineer with international prominence in the Disaster Response, Emergency Management and Natural Hazard Risk Reduction area. I am a Vice President with URS Corporation, one of the largest engineering design and construction companies in the world. I am the world wide Practice Leader for the company for Disaster Response and Emergency Response. I have done work in this arena on more than 500 US Disasters including Hurricane Katrina, Northridge Earthquake, and the 9/11 World Trade Center Attacks. Additionally, I’ve done work outside the US throughout the Caribbean and Central America, Haiti, Japan, China, India, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. I over see more than $2 billion in current contracts and manage an operation with more than 500 staff and $100 million in annual revenues. I have also been requested to provide information and briefings to Congress on several occasions.

Other activities and accomplishments since my graduation include:

Serving on Penn State Industrial and Professional Advisory Council for 6 years

Currently serve on Advisory Board to Virginia Tech University

Past Chairman of North Atlantic Region for American Society of Agricultural Engineers

Past Board Member for Association of State Flood Plain Managers

Current Board of Trustees Member and Executive Committee Member for ASFPM Foundation

Recipient of ASFPM Jerry Louthain Award for Service to Members

Woodward-Clyde Arnold Olitt Award for Business Development

Invited speaker nationally on natural disaster preparedness and emergency management.

Also a great father to 4 and husband.

I am sure that most......

alumni that can vote will make a concerted effort to back candidates that will work for the common good of PSU and that should include a “look” into how the present nominees voted on issues that pertained not only to regular University business, but how they voted on paticular issues of the current Mess. Do your due diligence!

I filled out a form on Adam Talliferro's twitter link

but have not received any emails. Should I try again?

Reporter: Can you give us a touchdown celebration, one that you would get penalized for?
Moye: I play at Penn State. I don’t celebrate.

when did you fill out the form?

And did you get a confirmation email confirming that they found you in the alumni database?

hmm

I would think if you haven’t gotten a confirmation email they couldn’t find you. You had to submit info to get the nomination ballot by last Sunday (the 15th). I think it’s too late now, but I may be wrong.
