LOL Game Open Thread: Penn State v. Houston
Hope you had a great (and safe, you guys still alive?) New Year celebration. The final open threads of the football season have arrived, which is terrible or great news depending on your perspective. The standard Rules Of Threading apply -- no links to illegal streams, porn, racism, sexism...you know, I think we collectively have the hang of this by now.
Subsequent threads in 45 minute intervals, or until the internet breaks under the weight of Rob Bolden's glory.

Good pressure on Keenum,
but can’t let him out of the pocket like that big play.

Happy New Year.
Let’s get a win for Scrap today. Also, I’m very curious how Bolden responds today. It might not be as bad as we think.

Can’t let a WR get behind you like that. GEEZ!
On 3rd and long
I’m hoping these guys aren’t already checked out…
Big play.
As expected, the D gives up an early one.
Let’s go, Offense, even this on back up.

DBs gotta jam the receivers at the line.
Disrupt their timing while the D-line works over the O-linemen and Keenum.

Yeah but they have no momentum.
Until a huge plays turns it this game is over. The D just let up two big plays to start, no problem really. But that first offensive series looks like it killed them.
The zone isn't the problem
the unwillingness to mix in other coverages is the problem.

how in the HELL was Bolden rated a four star recruit coming out of high school?
this kid couldn’t start on a D3 football team
Defense wins championships
If I was on defense
I don’t know how much effort I could muster either right now. I feel bad for them. The fact that Bradley has let Bolden ruin any chance the team has of winning is actually making me rethink my support of him for head coach.
MacGregor
can not be worse. Running Bleton out of the wildcat would not be worse. Using leftover sauekraut would not be a worse option right now.
He can be a lot worse
He could throw pick sixes, he could fumble.
This isn't in the D.
Offense is giving them no time to rest.

Morris is getting undressed out there
As an 8 year old boy meeting JoePa:
Me: Coach, I really am a big fan of Penn State
Joe: Glad to hear that
Me: I am also a big Notre Dame fan as well
Joe: Son, you can only be a fan of one or the other, not both. Make sure that you pick a winner.
Willis, sorry

I don't remember ever seeing a performance this bad.

was about to say the same
this is the worst start to a game i’ve ever seen…or at least can remember
"my dad says Michigan used to be good"
Kind of makes all the crying about being in a lesser bowl game look a bit foolish, no?
Just terrible. And no one on defense is suspended / hurt. Cannot wait for this to be over.
Is Willis trying to set a record?
Worst bowl game performance by a safety ever? If it weren’t for a couple drops he would have broken the record in the first quarter?

I have never been a fan of our pussy ass zone defense and today just pretty much confirmed it
Defense wins championships
3rd and three, play eight yards off
Some guy at Penn State Hershey just discovered a virus that eats cancer. Where were the CNN trucks for that? Now Someone at PSU found something that could cure Leukemia. Coverage? None. THON will probably break $10 mil this year. Put that on "Outside the Lines" you sanctimonious pricks!

Actually, this might be about the worst matchup we could ask for.

Bolden is awful
We knew this. And I can’t even muster up anger of any kind for the team. These kids have gone through something unprecedented. I don’t know if I would want to play either.
