Penn State's Board of Trustees electing new leadership
This was its first meeting since the scandal exploded in November. Friday, the trustees elected Karen Peetz as President of the 32 member board.
She's a Vice Chairman of The Bank of New York Mellon.
Also at the meeting, the trustee in charge of the school's internal investigation says the results may not come until next fall.

My favorite part of this post
Is there part where you even copied and pasted their copyright statement. You know, the one that says you shouldn’t copy and paste the entire article on another site.

How can you elect a leader...
from 32 people who are not leaders ??
There is a communications course at PSU that studies Joe Paterno’s decades old record of handling the “media” with success. He basically never gave them anything juicy, or controversial. His resignation announcement the morning of 11/9 was measured and designed to deflect attention from the BOT. Instead we know how the BOT responded.
They fired the only person on the planet who could have saved their asses.
She uses a familiar quote
“with the benefit of hindsight we all wished we would have done things a little differently” I mean is she serious?
Believe deep down in your heart that you are destined to do great things
Recognize this qoute?
"We have tried to do the right thing. All of us, including the board, with the wisdom of hindsight could have done things differently," she said. Thats our new trustees president in the PennLIve article
Believe deep down in your heart that you are destined to do great things
Stirring the shit pot
doesn’t change the smell or the contents.
Time to empty things out and start over.

"Make haste to reassure us, I beg you, and tell us that our fellow citizens understand us, support us, and protect us as we ourselves are protecting the glory of the Empire.
"If it should be otherwise, if we should have to leave our bleached bones on these desert sands in vain, then beware the fury of the Legions."
And "we" (disgruntled alumni, fans, et al.)
need to tap into the Faculty discontent with the investigation. They appear to be upset that Freeh is deferring so much to the BoT special committee, instead of being truly independent and letting the chips fall where they may. There is a concern this will be an MTO (made-to-order) report.

Where'd you see feedback from the faculty?
Would like to know how the ‘rank and file’ see things from their daily perspective
In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them
Sorry, it's from ESPN
but here is a link:

The new President
came out of left field; wasn’t on exec committee, and wasn’t a “name” choice.
My two cents: the true power brokers on the board don’t want to be the one in the crosshairs for all of the hate directed their way, so they put someone not in their inner circle in the line of fire.
