Important to remember
The BJC likely won’t fit everyone and there will be calls to move it to Beaver Stadium. Please just remember to be respectful IF you’re making this request as it may not be in the wishes of the Paternos.
Oh, I’m not trying to be disrespectful to the Paternos! It just seems silly to hold it where not even half the student body will be able to attend. Plus, it seems more fitting to have it in the stadium, is Joe’s castle.
But the good news is, they’re doing something.

I would imagine it probably has to do with the fact that the BJC is the biggest venue we have that isn't weather dependent
It is January after all. The stadium of course would be more fitting, bigger and all but it isn’t just hearty students that will be attending and Thursday is supposed to be wet and in the lower 40s.

I agree, but
Since when has a little bad weather stopped us from going to the stadium?

I know
But the important question is would want your 72 year old grandmother to be standing in the cold January rain for over an hour? I know there are private family only remembrances too, but I would imagine that Sue and his family and friends, people of an older vintage, will be wanting to attend the public ceremony as well.

So then wait until the weather cooperates (blue & white weekend) to hold an event like this.
I’m sorry. I’m just frustrated. I want to be able to go and pay my last respects and be with my family. But I know I’m not going to get in. Watching it online (if I illegally stream at work) just doesn’t sound like an appropriate way to say goodbye.

I understand
Nothing is ideal about any of this really.

I really want to mkae it up there sometime this week.
And I really wish the CDT would remove the “PSU Scandal” link from their site.
I really wish it would be on Saturday, so I could attend.

I'm thankful for at least one opportunity to say goodbye
Living and working in DC I wasn’t sure that possibility would present itself but the Wed viewing is definitely within my range of possible.

Will they tape it?
I don’t want the admins/BoT making money off of Joe, but I sure would appreciate being able to see the service(s).

I wish...
They would hold it in Beaver Stadium, then at the end (or at some point during) name the field after him… Paterno Field at Beaver Stadium.

Nah
I like the suggestion of renaming Curtain Rd to Paterno Way, as it connects the football field to the library. Much more symbolic of the man.
I'm on the Internet cause I'm an Internet thug.
