Despite claiming to only write "about coaches who coach Michigan," MGoBlog's Brian takes some time to call the late Joe Paterno a "child rape enabler."

not just slightly angry...

I was born at university of michigan hospital, i grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan was my first college love, my cousin plays for the UM Band right now, They are supposed to be better than that.

Spewing factual inaccuracies and jumping aboard the “I hate child rape more than you do” bandwagon is not how I expected Michigan Men and Women to behave.

I repudiate any and all association with UM. Ann Arbor, to me, is now officially a whore.

I shouldnt have read the comments…

Welcome

to the light side of the force.

If they ever tell my story let them say that I walked with giants. Men rise and fall like the winter wheat, but these names will never die. Let them say I lived in the time of Bradley, tamer of offenses. Let them say I lived in the time of Paterno.

Shocker

Brian at MGo is being a haughty douchebag? Surprise, surprise, surprise.

Consider this my official declaration of non-support of child molestation.

I don't know that Columbia is any better....

There’s a post on the latest Poorman article on www.statecollege.com and somebody traced the guy through his twitter handle and evidently he writes for the Columbia paper. Here is the text of his post:

“His views and opinions do not necessarily reflect those of Penn State University.”

Yes they do. Penn State University, and the entire commonwealth of Pennsylvania have, through their disgraceful lack of action, shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are pro-child rape.
St. Joe the pedophile harborer admitted his own guilt.

“I wish I’d done more.”

Those are his words, not the media’s.

No one can say the media got this story wrong. HE ALLOWED CHILDREN TO BE RAPED.I’m curious, though. After administrators fired Paterno, why did the students riot? Did they realize that they were protesting the ousting of an accessory to child rape? Probably not.

The idea and identity that this facade of a school hides behind is horrid.

Anyone who defends Joe Paterno as a good person, regardless of his amount of wins, should be put in a padded cell.

He died too soon. He should have lived long enough to see the inside of a cell for his crimes.

If you, or any other readers would like to respond, tweet me. @samjcharles

And that, friends, is one of the future journalists of America.

By the way, it’s a good article about Joe’s interacton with the students of Penn State. Found it because Ben tweeted about it. Worth a read.

Also, one of the responses to the post above was one of the best I’ve seen in directing the focus back to the issue of sexual child abuse and many people’s response to “IT.”

Columbia is not better

My point was that the vast majority of Michigan men are there because they were not accepted into an Ivy League school (most frequently Columbia or Cornell). There are d-bags everywhere; there just tend to higher concentrations of them at Ivy safety schools (see, e.g., Michigan, Duke and Penn (jk)).

Didn't have to add "j/k"

about Duke douchea — you are spot-on, ACL.

the j/k was about Penn

many people joke that they are not really an Ivy hence the safety school for the Ivy line

Reporter: Can you give us a touchdown celebration, one that you would get penalized for?
Moye: I play at Penn State. I don’t celebrate.

Did anyone tweet him back?

The funniest bit is “those are his word’s, not the media’s” and then he takes it out of context.

I could also say “In retrospect, I wish I’d done more to make sure that you were never born.”

this makes me want to punch the next person I see with that stupid fucking M anywhere on their body.

That being said, there were some people in the comments that were actually talking to the angry ignorant mob with facts instead of talking points prepared by tWWl.

still, so angry.

AHH Yes

That’s the Michigan we know and love. They win the Sugar Bowl and they are superior to all again. Not surprising. They can rot in hell too, every one of them.

I know a lot of proud graduates of M,

and this is precisely why they insist that MGoBlog is for sidewalk fans. I hope we will keep in mind that Brian in no way is a representative of that University or their feelings at large. Although I will understand if it is a difficult perspective to maintain.

This.

In fact, there has been an outpouring of support from Buckeye fans, notably on the Lions 247 board.

Who knows, maybe Brian is trolling for hits — don’t give MGo or 11W the satisfaction.

Stopped reading after ten lines...

when I saw his take on Nixon’s death. Nixon was an unlikable paranoid weirdo who broke the law and lied, but in hindsight, was actually a pretty moderate President with far reaching and successful policies. Not wanting to start any debate on the subject, but there was just a bit more to say about Nixon than “he died,” no matter which side of the aisle you support.

What an idiot.

While I still do not hope they win any games for the next decade, I do have to say my close friends who are Michigan folks all have the utmost respect for JoePa and hold him in the highest regard. Unfortunately, they do not have oversight of that blog. And they root for a top university that is willing to put people that cannot read on the field every Saturday in the fall.

Saw him do it more than once

In the RR years. I think they also have a ridiculously strange protocol for posting. I think you earn a score somehow before you can post. It seems closely moderated. If I am wrong please feel free to correct me. I don’t want to overstate the douchiness.

Completely different worlds...

We demand success with honor, they apparently act without either. And yes, I know that they don’t represent all of Michigan, but they represent enough for me to continue hating them.

It is easy to go down into Hell; night and day, the gates of dark Death stand wide; but to climb back again, to retrace one's steps to the upper air - there's the rub, the task.

Can we disable the link?

Getting more page views will only enable his ignorance. I think we all know that there are a large number of Michigan fans who are complete a-holes. There is also a smaller contingent who are nice, respectable human beings who go there for a quality education.

Lets allow cooler heads to prevail, refuse to irrationally hate all Michigan grads, and not give a voice to the irratinal haters.

Anybody have time for a fisking?

The factual inaccuracies in that post are incredible. My instant test on whether someone knows what the hell they are talking about is the assertion that Joe and Jerry were friends. Every first hand account suggests otherwise.

I want to take a moment to remind everyone

to please calm down. The important thing to remember is that we all disagree on important social issues, that it’s okay we’re in that situation, and that threads like the above are very rarely constructive.

Really.

You’re really going to go there?

Go re-read this thread. The lack of respect and lack of class is coming from people like kijana’s acl and artie, not yours truly.

Do not be surprised if you argue something and people try to argue back. And, like it or not, posting eulogies of Joe Paterno without even mentioning his failure to do more is an argument in and of itself. Which is where Brian Cook came in – in response to such tone-deaf eulogies.

Right
The lack of respect and lack of class is coming from people like kijana’s acl and artie, not yours truly.

This obviously wasn’t started by you sarcastically belittling everyone on here who believes differently than you. There are a million articles out there about how Joe didn’t do enough, etc. We get that. We just think there should be a period of respectfully honoring the dead.

And then you just now call us “a clueless set of content-free devotionals”. Total respect on your end! You’re like a modern day Grace Kelly!
