You need to listen to Tony Kornheiser’s interview with Sally Jenkins. It is clear why the Paterno’s picked her to do the interview. She makes some wonderful statements and you can hear how she has been moved by this experience. It is great to hear "outsiders" speak so rationally and thoughtfully of this situation. Best quote of the entire conversation: ‘I think it’s a mistake to say that Joe Paterno had nothing but football in his life… He clearly had a great marriage; he had 17 grandkids, 5 kids. The house was full of laughter and his family was funny. He said, "I’m not sitting around crying for myself." You know, people underestimate just how strong he was emotionally. Joe Paterno would have recovered from what happened at Penn State. He couldn’t recover from lung cancer. You know, lung cancer killed him. Actually, I think the chemotherapy killed him even more than the cancer. But I really disagree that what happened at the end of his career, you know, literally killed him or hastened his death. I think Joe Paterno was more man than that.’ Go here: http://www.stationcaster.com/player_skinned.php?s=65&c=580&f=368441 Show name: 01-23-12 The Tony Kornheiser Show Hour 2 section It starts at 14 min and goes til 28.5 min mark.
