Finished my last class of the day and was getting ready for bus duty when this email came in this afternoon:

"Tomorrow we will be having a Blue and White Day. You and your students are invited to wear your favorite Penn State apparel or Blue and White to honor the life and legacy of Joe Paterno."

How awesome is that? (I wasn't even the one who suggested it!) I'm only in that building in the afternoons, but I will be wearing my gear all day!! (My dad called and suggested I do the whole rolled-up khakis thing too- genius!) I made sure to remind all of the kids who walked by me this afternoon- some started shouting to me about it as soon as they saw me. (Made for a rowdy bus duty!) They're 4th and 5th grade kids, and they are awesome. So many of them stopped to ask how I was doing or just say they felt sad. My "little man," about whom I've shared before, even said, "well, Miss Fink, you know I'm no Penn State fan, but I'll be dressed for it tomorrow to honor the man."

On a side note, I got a kick out of the call from my folks today- found out my Mom has been coming to the site the past few days now to check things out. She likes it! I don't see her getting a user name and joining though.
