Images From Today at PSU
I traveled back to campus today to say goodbye to Joe. The outpouring of love, pride, and sadness was palpable. I have posted about 20 images from the day on my blog. If you can't make it to campus tomorrow or Thursday, maybe these decidedly NOT mainstream media photos will give you a feel for the on-campus celebration of Joe's life.
As a side note, after I exited the sanctuary I found myself walking next to Tom Bradley. I made sure to thank him for how he handled things this season, for his decades of service to the university, and I told him that we will all be rooting for him wherever he goes next.

I went tonight around 9:30
The line was moving pretty fast by then. The rugby team was giving away hot chocolate, but by the time we got there we didn’t need it because we got inside pretty quick,
There’s not much to see. A lot of flowers, a casket and a picture. But seeing all those people – young, old, black, white, brown, dressed up, dressed down – was very moving.

Thanks for posting pictures. For those of us who can’t be there, it is great to have a better understanding of what it’s like up there. Amazing how long the line is!

I think he knew to leave us on a Sunday
Never on a Saturday because that was game day and never during the week for he knew he couldnt have grown men and women crying at their desks.
As I read somewhere, quite appropriately,
Joe left us on Sunday, because he never liked losing anything on Saturday.
"Is that a shot at me? 'cause that makes me want to read it all the less."
