BSD Donations to THON in Joe’s Memory.

PrintWe have received our first update from Anuj Upadhyay, Overall Donor and Alumni Relations Chairperson for THON. So far, Black Shoe Diaries Members have contributed $630 to THON. Our goal for BSD is $4090 ($10 for every Joe Paterno victory). If you’ve already donated to THON, those donations can still count. Just email your receipt to donor.alumni.relations@THON.org and specify that the donations are for BSD and in memory of Joe Paterno. You can still select which organization you would like your donation to be credited to as well.
If you have not donated to THON, please use their website to donate if you can or find instructions for sending a payment via mail. Thank you all for helping out with this effort!
P.S. Please rec this to get it to the top of the fanposts list! I'll keep posting updates under this thread.

If I sent in already, I just got a receipt from PSU today. Can I ask them to credit it to Joe and BSD, or is it in already and can’t be moved around?

Just email them a copy of your receipt,
ask for it to be credited to BSD in memory of Joe. My understanding is that the money isn’t being moved around. So if you donated to a fraternity or other organization or department, that organization will still get the credit. But there will be additional categories of For Joe and BSD for Joe!

When is the deadline for submitting donations?
Is there a cutoff date?

Donations will be valid for this years total until Sunday, Feb 19th at noon
I would suggest donating online – its easier and the crediting is easier as well. Right now there are thousands of checks pouring into the THON office and it is possible that they might not be credited properly.
For a check, try to attribute the org accreditation when you send the check in, it just makes it way easier on THONs end and you can be certain the credit occurs because they do it on the spot. If you did not, the best email to send it to would be treasurer at thon dot org.

I asked if my THON kid would draw a thank you picture for BSD
She said yes with all the wild enthusiasm of a hyper 8 year old and asked how many you all would want.

Yes they are but we still need a TON of support
THON lost a canning weekend which was devastating and will hurt the total. We need as many donations as possible to make up for the lost canning weekend and IT. Thanks so much for your support! FTK!

That my donation will be attributed to BSD. So since we want 10 for each victory, my 20 is for the Jan 1st game in 1983 and 1987. Oh yeah, called the 2 titles.
