It's week 8 of the Big Ten Challenge and the Thursday night College football Open thread.
So Penn State returns after a week off to face hated Iowa who managed to pull off a mild upset, beating Michigan State in 2 overtimes last week. Wisconsin looked like they found their lost offense while pummeling dark horse Purdue 38-14. Other than those results, everything else went according to plan. We'll get to the stats and picks for this week but before we do, I'm legally obligated to tell you that there's a Thursday night game tonight.
Unfortunately, like the past couple weeks, it's a west coast game and it starts at 9:00 PM. Fortunately, it should be a good one as #6 Oregon travels to take on Arizona State at Sun Devil Stadium. ASU is unranked but sitting at 5-1 with the 17th best offense, scoring just over 40 points a game and the 9th best defense giving up only 14.2 point per game. Their only loss came at Missouri by 4 points. The game can be seen on TWWL starting at 9:00 PM. As always, stop by for the open thread during the game.

Nick gets the balls of steel award for picking Iowa over Sparty, the only person to do so. He did miss Wisconsin's return to dominance though so he's stuck in the logjam at the top which includes you the reader; congrats! Tim gets the gutsy but WRONG award of the week.

The bloggers are unanimous on Wisconsin, OSU, and the good guys. No one is sure about Northwestern/Nebraska and only a couple believe in Michigan. I like Navy's play of late but I can't say the same for Indiana.
