We all know that BOBs Nittany Lions are fast starters. They have been absolutely dominant in the first quarter this season, and, excepting the Northwestern game, dominated the first half of every game as well. Their performance in the second half of games, however, is of some concern to me, especially as they approach the challenging part of their schedule. Excepting the Northwestern game, Penn State has been outscored 73-61 in the second half, and out gained 1233-953. They lost their first two games by allowing Ohio and Virginia to make come from behind adjustments, and Navy actually beat themselves in what was otherwise a dominant second half for them.
Until BOB shows me that he can make adjustments in 20 minutes to sustain the game plan advantages that he is clearly able to craft with a weeks preparation, I will be concerned about the lions ability to compete at the highest levels.
