Jerry Sandusky was officially sent to his new home on Wednesday, having been placed at SCI Greene, a state prison in Greene County, Pennsylvania.
Jerry Sandusky, he of convicted child assaulter infamy, learned his residential fate on Wednesday, as he was officially placed in SCI Greene, a state prison in central Greene County. Southwestern PA jokes aside, Sandusky will likely spend the rest of his life alone, in a cell, surrounded by bars and guards. The Washington Post has some of the details of Sandusky's confinement:
He will not have a cellmate and will be subject to heightened supervision and an escort when not in his cell. He will get an hour of individual exercise five days a week and three showers a week. He will eat meals in his cell. Prison services such as counseling, religion, medications and treatment programming will also occur in his cell. All visits will be non-contact, meaning no touching is allowed. He may have a TV, radio and other property, according to the Corrections Department, if he is deemed to be in “compliant adjustment.”
SCI Greene houses nearly 2000 inmates, including some on death row like Mumia Abu-Jamal, convicted of killing a Philadelphia police officer.
