NCAA official's "heart goes out" to Penn Staters

Warning: Extreme ass-hat alert, as Dr. Ray of Oregon State (the leader of the sanctions committee) tells CBS Sports he "understands" what we Penn Staters are going through.

In Dr. Ray's words, we Penn Staters are "drive-by" victims. Using that analogy, Jerry Sandusky is the trigger-puller, but the vehicle was driven by the NCAA committee/Dr. Erickson. They are the ones who decided to punish the entire Penn State community, rather than letting the criminal justice system properly handle the situation and the alleged perpetrators.

He goes on to bemoan, "And I think about the victims,” Ray added. “I've heard too little about the victims. God knows what their lives are like and how they've been damaged by that absolute horror. It's just all very, very very sad and it's not over.”

Obviously he has not been paying attention to Penn Staters' contributions to RAINN, or the "blue out" fundraising efforts, or the strides Penn State is taking to heighten awareness of child abuse as a universal problem. Further, his actions and those of his cohorts on the NCAA committee GUARANTEED that the victims' voices would be drowned out in the cacophony and uproar touched off by the arbitrary, draconian sanctions imposed by THEM.

Dr. Ray's sentiments are merely crocodile tears, and are entirely self-serving and self-pitying. He deserves no respect, but rather merits contempt for his feeble attempt to garner sympathy for himself. He "understands what (we are) dealing with"?!?!?! Really? He doesn't have a clue.

It is a shame that someone like Dr. Ray is in a position to influence the thinking and lives of young people, when it is apparent he is not capable of developing a single rational thought.

(Apologies if this is a duplicate post/shot; I looked but didn't find . . . )
