Sheesh! So who to root for on January 7th....Alabama or Notre Dame.
In 'Bama's favor: long-standing mutual admiration between the fan bases of PSU and 'Bama (for the most part); they definitely are a solid football team on both sides of the ball; they beat Georgia in what was arguably one of the very best football games of the season; and they're not Notre Dame.
In Notre Dame's favor: they had a nice undefeated season completely unexpectedly; it's good for football when Notre Dame is relevant; it'll be good to finally have someone other than an SEC team as champion; it might shut SEC fans up for a little while.
Reasons against Alabama: They've won it enough already; they're an SEC team and it'd be good to shut their fans up for a while (how can anyone listen to Finebaum?!); it'd be nice to knock Saban down a peg or two (SaTan...SaBan....someone made a deal with the devil me thinks...).
Reasons against Notre Dame: I love watching ND lose ALMOST as much as I love watching Pitt lose; there'll be NO living with Notre Dame fans for the next 12 months if they win...they'll be insufferable; the fellating of T'eo in the national media will be unbearable; the only thing worse for football than a non-relevant ND is a way too relevant ND.
So I am completely conflicted almost to the point of maybe not watching. Last thing I want is to be like Brady Quinn's sister when she was wearing that god-awful sewn together tOSU/ND jersey when she was dating AJ Hawk. Anyone else feeling the same ambivalence?
