What do you guys think about this? I won't lie - I thought about going yesterday until I decided it was a little too expensive to be worth it, but something else is bothering me a little bit too. It feels a little slimy to pay 22 year olds to give face time to a bunch of alumni - especially to pay them in the form of a trip to somewhere as sketchy as AC. Not to be a troll, but It feels like tattoo-gate. The event takes place on the first day of class, and the seniors would likely be traveling back to campus on the second day of class. Sure, it's syllabus week, but I'm sure that wouldn't excuse anyone from missing class under the old regime.
There's just something about our seniors selling their appearance for a trip to AC to go gamble and drink instead of going to their first few classes that rubs me the wrong way. There are some recent alums (DC17, DWill) attending too that aren't playing football anymore. I saw on twitter that DC17 was signing autographs at a mall in Harrisburg last week. The whole thing is just kind of sad. Less of this, more success with honor, please.
Also, does anyone know how this manages to not violate NCAA rules? A while ago, there was an effort to collect money for scholarships for graduating senior players who didn't have scholarships, but I can't find anything about that right now after a quick google search.
