Oh, Hello: New QB Coach Charlie Fisher
This news was lost in the wash of the weekend, but Bill O'Brien finally named a quarterbacks coach prior to the big recruiting weekend. After Bill O'Brien was unable to pull George Godsey from New England's coaching staff (RIP, @DouchyGodsey), Charlie Fisher comes to Penn State following a short stint at MAC Miami. Prior to that, Fisher was at Vanderbilt for nine seasons. Here's his résumé, courtesy of Miami's official site:
Fisher spent the last nine seasons at Vanderbilt, serving as wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator. He also mentored the Commodores' running backs during the 2002 and 2003 seasons.
Before joining Vanderbilt, he served two years as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Temple and had a two-year stint tutoring North Carolina State receivers, including likely NFL Hall of Famer Torry Holt.
Fisher's background also includes a successful tenure as head coach at West Georgia from 1993-97. While there, he led the Division II Braves to a 36-17 overall record. He also served as an offensive coach at Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) College from 1985-90.
Despite his career taking him to the deep south, Fisher is a Pennsylvania native. In SEC circles, Fisher was known for his ability to recruit talent that was overlooked by goliaths such as Alabama and Auburn. He helped Jay Cutler become a first-round NFL draft pick, and also coached WR Torry Holt at North Carolina State. As the York Daily Record noted, his passing attack was ranked 14th nationally at Miami last year, despite the team winning only four games.

Zac Stacy is a really good RB
3/4 of those guys mentioned were steals. I really hope Fisher leads the charge into Alabama, and can land some guys there
She asked me who I wanted to have a three some with. I said "Why not Zoidberg?"

Also, his first day on the job involved co-hosting 50+ recruits.
He spent time with those QBs in attendance. The ones I spoke with had nothing but good things to say about Fisher and the coaching staff in general.

I'd love to see him turn one (pick one)
Of our quarterbacks into a reliable passer…Pick one. Anyone?

I know who my guess would be right now.
But there is still a lot of time. Luckily, there are a good number of quarterbacks high on PSU so far.

Well I think we can safely rule out
rotating quarterbacks with McGloin getting the start, Bolden in the 2nd Qtr, Jones in the 3rd and Bench in the 4th.
Been there, done that.
It really didn’t work out too well.

I doubt you see a QB rotation like you did last year
but no one really has any idea as to who the starting QB will be next year. Probably not even BOB either.

McGloin has to be the odds on favorite
Either of the other guys need to demonstrate an ability to perform in a way they haven’t in the past. In Bolden’s case, he needs to show that he can effectively throw the short pass and not lose his shit in the face of a pass rush and Paul Jones needs to show that he can earn a 2.0 (and that he’s a better QB than either of the other guys).
McGloin might not be everybody’s favorite player, but I think you have to assume that he’s going to be the starter in September.
I wouldn't trust old rooster me neither.
Its a resonable assumption to make
mostly due to playing time and ability, but I wouldn’t be willing to annoint him the starter just yet. We have no idea how BOB has evaluated the players (or if he has yet) and how he expects them to fit into his system and on the DC. Due to many of the reasons you stated, we can assume that at this point in time that the most probable starter is McGloin, but its hard to say with any real certainty thats how it will shake out in the fall.
Perhaps BOB has Jones rated higher and he’s able to overcome his academic issues. Maybe Bolden flourishes under the new coaching staff and finds more confidence in his game. Maybe McGloin gets into another fight and knocks himself out again, resulting in concussion like symptoms all spring. With a new coaching staff, there are so many more variables to consider that I think you can’t make any definitive statements about what the QB lineup will be. You, me, and everybody else might think it will be McGloin, but we wont know until its made a definite.

He certainly deserves some credit...
for not bitch-slapping Cutler and taking a pair of scissors to his Bieber hair.

I like Fisher's resume
better than Godsey’s anyway.
BOB is putting together a pretty good staff. Would be nice if Johnson took over DC in a couple years.
While I'm not optimistic, I think we have to give Roof at least a look before we start mentally replacing him.
Also, and I’m basing this on absolutely nothing, I don’t think LJ and Vandy are long termers on this staff.

I'm not so sure
Seems like Jonhson will stay until he retires, even without ever becoming DC. Vandy, I’m not so sure about. Both those guys have a strong track record I don’t seem them being fired for one off year, unless they can not work with Roof and his scheme.

agreed
LJ seems pretty close to retirement, as he was even contemplating it a few years ago.
Fire Dan Snyder
Nice pickup
Of course, I’m tainted by the fact that he was coaching at my alma mater.
Here’s to finding the next Cutler, minus the douchey attitude.
