While all of us Penn Staters probably wish we could, for obvious reasons, leap into the future a bit, I was taken by complete surprise when I woke up yesterday morning. I was expecting it to be March 1st and it was February 29th. Give any cook one extra, unexpected day a month, and I guarantee you he or she will have fun with it!
After about 20 minutes of pondering what to do with my extra day, I decided to make malted milkshakes. I hadn't been planning on getting into ice-cream, ice-cream drinks or smoothies until Summer, but I had received a drink mixer for Christmas which was still in the box and ready for a test drive, and, last Saturday, my neighbor gave me a hostess gift of some great looking classic ice-cream soda-type glasses. My decision was made.
What's more fun than actually making milkshakes or malts? Telling your significant other what you're planning to do, then asking them to go to buy three flavors of PSU Creamery ice cream and some malted milk powder. The turn-around time is astoundingly quick!
