In further dysfunctional leadership news. The BOT decided to release yet another justification of why they fired Joe. Yes, four months later, these idiots continue to try and cover their asses.
This one was sent to the entire Penn State listserv and the new Pen State Openness website. These tools continue to indict Joe as the ultimate level of failure at Penn State. They float this turd as the reason:
“While Coach Paterno did his legal duty by reporting that information the next day, Sunday, March 3, to his immediate superior, the then Penn State Athletic Director Tim Curley, the Board reasonably inferred that he did not call police. We determined that his decision to do his minimum legal duty and not to do more to follow up constituted a failure of leadership by Coach Paterno.” This is a load of crap debunked on many BSD commentaries. We all know that the PSU police were involved and that they are the ultimate level of authority over University Park. We also know that this wasn’t Joe’s responsibility but Mike McQ’s and/or the Athletic Director’s responsibility. What the fuck people? Four months later, that’s the best you can do? My six year old can justify shit better than that in five minutes. Sadly, this reminds the Paterno family that those pantless idiots were responsible for firing Joe.http://onwardstate.com/2012/03/12/paterno-family-responds-to-board-of-trustees-statement/
And justifiably, the family’s response to this one is a bit more acerbic than in the past.
“The latest statement is yet another attempt by the Board to deflect criticism of their leadership by trying to focus the blame on Joe Paterno. This is not fair to Joe’s legacy; it is not consistent with the facts; and it does not serve the best interests of the university.”It’s clear that both the BOT and Governer Corbett are worried. Why else would they continue to blame Paterno, posthumously? The family’s statement goes on to track the inconsistency of the BOT:
“The latest statement is yet another attempt by the Board to deflect criticism of their leadership by trying to focus the blame on Joe Paterno. This is not fair to Joe’s legacy; it is not consistent with the facts; and it does not serve the best interests of the university.”
Indeed, when will we see some culpability from the BOT? And from the Governer? Yours in disgust,
