I used to have a belief that the "We are Penn State" meant that every student, alumni and employee had a responsibility, a contribution and a voice in defining what it meant to be a part of Penn State. I had believed that the combination of the Board of Trustees, the President, the Student population, the Alumni and employees defined what We Are Penn State means. There have been many events, press releases and journalistic articles describing actions of Penn State, the moral qualities of Penn State, and what it means to be associated with Penn State.
I would like to start an open discussion as to the meaning of "We Are Penn State". The recent BSD survey revealed that there are a lot of readers who do not comment on articles, and I ask that many of you who have not commented before or infrequently commented to please participate. If there is anyone who should participate in defining "We Are Penn State" it is us, and we should all participate free from harassement.
While I state what I used to believe, I do not state what I currently believe it means to be "We Are Penn State" because I do not want to skew the conversation and inhibit it to my opinions.
Please, I ask, you state....
