Per this article from ESPN in her meeting with the faculty senate:
Penn State's trustees are considering structural changes to improve transparency including the addition of an outreach committee and increased advisory roles for faculty, students and alumni.
Also this gem:
Peetz also said the school had to look at having the proper balance between athletics and academics, saying an "underbelly of athletics" had to be studied closely and controlled in a different way.
It would be greatly appreciated if the administration would take the time to get a cohesive strategy and set of goals, so that they stop contradicting themselves with their words and actions. Their words are hollow and their lack of conviction regarding any action they've taken is showing their cowardice. The disingenuous words and fearful actions need to stop. There is no "underbelly of athletics" at Penn State. Where this notion even comes from completely baffles me. Our student athletes and athletic programs epitomize what everyone should strive for. It's fair to make the argument that our athletics are under appreciated based on the overwhelming success we have in several sports that do not receive the attention and celebration they deserve. Once again, this is the administration doing their best to make this a "football problem" and not an administrative one.
