Evan Flood of 247Sports is reporting that Kansas Jayhawk QB Jordan Webb is leaving the program and has interest in joining Wisconsin. Webb will graduate in May and has two years of eligibility remaining.
Why do you care? Well, in addition to Penn State, Wisconsin is believed to be another finalist in the Danny O'Brien sweepstakes, and if Webb were to transfer to Wisconsin, that would effectively remove the Badgers from the running.
A transfer to Wisconsin by Webb by no means ensures Penn State will land O'Brien, as Connecticut and Vanderbilt are still around. But with Wisconsin out of the way (presumably), and with recent comments by Coach O'Brien that he has been in contact with O'Brien The Younger, things bode well for Penn State.
If O'Brien the Younger does pick Penn State, here is how the scholarship breakdown would look over the next five years (assuming the both Steven Bench and Christian Hackenberg redshirt, and assuming Rob Bolden does not).
