Ryan Switzer, the speedy, slot wide receiver prospect from George Washington HS in West Virginia, will announce his college decision tomorrow morning. He will decide between WVU, PSU, and UNC.
Switzer was at UNC last weekend, and reportedly had a great trip. West Virginia is the hometown team, but is likely running a distant third in this race. Penn State has a documented record of being at or near the top for Switzer.
Since announcing his announcement, Switzer has been relatively quiet. I traded a couple of texts with Adam Breneman this morning, who is friends with Switzer and is trying to recruit him to Penn State.
"I felt really good about [Penn State's] chances. But now I'm not too sure", Breneman told me.
Setting an announcement date on Thursday, on the heels of a good trip to Chapel Hill, and prior to a scheduled but currently questionable trip to PSU has many Nittany Lion fans worried about Switzer. Once seen as something of a lock to choose Penn State, I'd say it's now a toss-up between UNC and PSU.
Stay tuned for tomorrow morning's decision.
UPDATE: WV Metro News is reporting, with Switzer's coach as a source, that Ryan will pick UNC tomorrow. Thunder, stolen.
