Alex Benepe, the President of the International Quidditch Association, was today's guest on Jian Ghomeshi's NPR show, Q. When asked about the growing popularity of the sport, the said that he just heard that Penn State just put together the first varsity team.
According to http://www.internationalquidditch.org , the non-profit league currently has 595 registered college and high school teams and continues to grow in popularity.
If true, congratulations to the students for putting another Penn State first into the history books.
