As many of you know, I served with the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR) in 2006-7. Based in Baghdad, we audited contracts and programs intended to help Iraq get back on its feet, not just from the invasion but from years of neglect of its infrastructure.
Since its establishment around 2004, SIGIR was always intended to be a temporary organization; it will cease operations in 2013. (Yes, ten years in US government terms is "temporary" -- deal with it! LOL.) As the clock winds down, it is publishing its last few reports; here is a link to one:

SIGIR publishes its audits on-line at www.sigir.mil/audit Take a look sometime; if you should happen to have questions, e-mail me and I will try to answer.
