Coach O'Brian has a distinct advantage over other coaches that is not intuitively obvious. He can look a recruit in the eye, and promise him mass quantities of immediate playing time! Every coach in the country may say it, but BOB's pitch about playing time will, for better or worse, be totally and completely believable.

Here are a couple of new recruiting lines that might be tried.

'Hey, we only have 65 scholarship players, so you are going to play early, and have a good chance of starting often.!'

"Son, you are a tremendous athlete, we will play you on offense, defense, and special teams."

I am sure the creative deep-thinkers that are BSD contributors can come up with a few more helpful hints for recruiting pitches.

Then, BOB should focus on quality, and hope the new kids don't get caught doing what every other college student is doing on Friday nights.
